This house looks abandoned. Windows are falling out, fence is knocked over and trashed is piled up out back. What is going on? I live across the street and this is an eyesore.

Hi, I am reporting this a second time on this forum. There is illegal dumping taking place on the stretch of road just before N. Border Road meets with I95. Please, could you put up signs warning people not to dump their waste? And please, could you post a response to my ticket? Thanks.

This trash has been out there going on three weeks now. It smells horrible! Please have it removed immediately. The weather is getting warmer, it’s only going to attract more rats. It is just inches away from cars that have to stop at the red light.

This trash has been out on the curb for 2 weeks. Trash day was today and it was not picked up again! There is more in the driveway. We are already getting rats from the construction on Main and South, we don't need this to add to it. Please have it removed promptly! Thank you!

The Dumpster behind the Trodella Building 302-311 Main looks like this after every weekend until it is picked up on Tuesday. Mostly food waste, from the party place at 297 Main, which attracts rodents. Can a larger receptacle be required?

Why are we not receiving trash services this week? Please explain.

I can't believe that this is the towns solution to the double yellow lines. Do you know what looks worse than double yellow lines??? A giant black streak. I am hosting Christmas at my home this year and I have family and friends coming from several different states and I am embarrassed by the appearance of my street. Who ever made this decision should be ashamed of themselves and have their neighborhood humiliated like mine was.

Why are issues reported and then not followed up on? DPW and SPD, I'm looking at you,,, especially around tickets and illegal vehicle activity. And what is up with that whole "Content blocked by rejections" all over the place? I assume BOS maintains SCF so can someone please explain? I personally enjoy the crabbys boo hooing around SCF but SCF should still be productive. The only departments that appear to be responsive in terms of working to completion are SFD, BOS and Board of Health.

99 Broadway Stoneham, MA 02180, USA - Stoneham

Intersection of Broadway and MacArthur Rd. The DPW suggested contacting the TA & Selectmen regarding the chronic pothole problem at this intersection, as they do not have the money to properly repair. This is a constant problem yearly not just a result of this years snowfall. Here is the DPW response:

The Department of Public Works understands the frustration regarding the condition of the intersection of Broadway and MacArthur. Unfortunately the funding provided for the MacArthur Road Drainage Project was estimated to stop just beyond Aricia Lane and never enough to complete the project. However due to competitive bids the Town was able to have Joseph P. Cardillo & Son, Inc install additional materials that brought the system up to Hillside Ave (+/- 740 linear feet) and still be completed 1 month ahead of schedule.

In order to bring the system to the Broadway / MacArthur intersection an estimated $160,000 in additional funding is required. No funding has been provided to the Department to complete this work and the only money available now is through the Chapter 90 program. Using these funds would remove approximately 3,000 feet of street paving from the current program. If you have driven down Franklin Street, specifically in the Rustic to Perkins stretch, you will notice how the mix that the State required to be installed, as part of the Franklin Street reconstruction, has prematurely failed creating large scab areas. The Town does not install that mix during its Chapter 90 paving work.

If the Department has Broadway repaved without installing a drainage system at the intersection of MacArthur the road will crack and return to its current condition before the theoretical useful life of the top course of asphalt.

The Department attempts to spend every dollar as efficiently as possible. The estimated cost to repave only this intersection is $4,400 and may need to be ripped up in 1 to 2 years if funding is allocated to complete the necessary work.

Contact the Town Administrator, David Ragucci 1-781-279-2600 or Office Manager for the Board of Selectmen Erin Sinclair 1-781-279-2670 if you would like to make a request at the next Board of Selectmen meeting to have discuss allocating funding for drainage construction in the future.

Potholes will be examined and filled as necessary. Thank you for your patience

This issue was closed by the police without ever responding. It appears the new procedure for parking on a sidewalk is to paint a street line down the middle of the sidewalk and call it a parking space. Can this be done anywhere in town where a person wants to take over a sidewalk to use for parking? I would like to be able to paint a line down the middle of my sidewalk and park in front of my house when convenient. Thank you.

  • 44 Pond Street Stoneham, Massachusetts - Stoneham

This issue was first reported over a week ago. First to the DPW, and then the Town Administrator. There has been no response addressing corrective action. See links below.

I feel this is a safety issue that should not have gone on this long, and would probably be a fairly quick fix to secure these electrical wires and restore the operation of the crossing signal.
    Thank you.

"There are exposed electric wires hanging from a crossing traffic signal at the corner of Pond and Summer Street, at the corner of 44 Pond Street. Are these wires dangerous?
The other call button at the same corner is also broken leaving no way to get a pedestrian walk light from this corner. I noticed this was reported a week ago, but there has been no action taken.
If you could look into it and get pedestrian signals working again it would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank you."
