Deskripsyon

For some time now, there has been a portable advertising sign in the parking lot of the old Radio Shack regarding purchasing damaged properties. Today they have put up another sign, on the side of the building. It takes up the ENTIRE side of the building, and is very tacky. It is an eyesore for people to look at, and for those visiting our town or stopping off at the 19th Street exit, I am embarrassed that they have to see such a thing. There is no way the size of the sign is within municipal code requirements.

The large signs were taken down and one was put inside the building. The property owner turns on the lights at night inside the building to try to advertise using the large sign which used to be outside, and it is very distracting to drivers. Additionally they still have a sign up on each building face.

The information that I have received:
There was a permit issued for the outside signs and it is not against any ordinance to leave a business’s lights on during the evening.
